Clean Rail Solutions for Clean Air, Clean Water, Clean Linen & Waste Management

Concept Note

The Indian Railways, the world’s largest carrier of passengers, is taking major initiatives in providing clean and hygienic experiences to its users and commuters while transitioning into the new era which includes Air-conditioning trains and Vande Bharat projects.

The Indian Railways is looking at establishing Clean and Green Railways with newer technologies, solutions, and products for cleaning, waste, and linen care. Taking forward from the first National Clean Rail Conference, in association with Clean India Journal, the second one-day conference is being organized in Mumbai. More than 100 Indian Railway officials from across Central & Western zones and the Railway Board will gather to understand the new solutions, technologies, and products presented by the cleaning, waste management, and laundry segments.

The officials will include, CRCS, CRME, EnHM & Project heads, Executive Director-Mechanical Engineering (Coaching), Director-Mechanical (Coaching), Director/EnHM, Deputy Director -EnHM, Section Officer-EnHM and others.

Indian Railways have been taking several much-needed initiatives to improve their hygiene and sanitation standards in washroom on trains and stations as well; to improve the standards of maintenance of the coaches and its indoor air quality; and enable clean environment -- Zero waste, hygienic linen supply and water treatment. The conference will address these areas and engage in high level discussion with stakeholders moving towards digitalisation, and automation.
