A new technology to monitor Nagpur’s waste collection

Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) launch an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to monitor waste collection in the city

The city of Nagpur will no longer be burdened with the worry of uncollected waste. The NSSCDCL and NMC have recently launched an application that will monitor waste collection in the city.

The QR-based technology that has been developed by ITI Limited will address the irregular garbage collection problem in the city. It will make the waste collection system more comprehensive and transparent.

The system will be able to provide real-time information on whether household garbage is picked up or not. Earlier, the garbage collection vehicles were inconsistent. Now, solid waste collectors will need to scan unique codes using their smartphones daily after collecting the garbage. Whether the garbage is collected or not will be displayed on an integrated dashboard.
