  • Only 22% of municipal bodies in 24 states collect urban waste regularly.
  • 33% of municipal bodies have not conducted any study on adverse health impact due to improper management of municipal waste.
  • Only 17% municipalities are able to ensure proper storage of waste.
  • Only 11% of municipal bodies have capability to process waste thereby resulting in the waste lying in dump sites causing contamination of underground water.
