Apa, a sherpa from Nepal, has conquered Mount Everest for a breathtaking 19th time to create environmental awareness. Apa reached the summit of the world’s highest peak as part of Eco Everest Expeditions, aiming to educate climbers about their impact on the Himalayas and highlight the affects of climate change on the region. The aim of the expedition was to encourage the mountaineers to get back the trash that they find on the mountain under the “Cash for Trash” programme. Eco Everest will be paying र 100 for each kilo of trash brought back down.
