Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Processing and Marketing Corp (HPMC) will market organic manure produced from apple pomace (waste left after extraction of juice). HPMC’s biggest fruit processing plant produces around 2,000 tonnes of apple solid waste. HPMC will source the technology to produce manure from a Ludhiana-based firm. The initiative will also help disposal of solid waste scientifically.
