Bangalore looking for the right waste bin

The requirement of having a dust bin every 50feet, especially in commercial areas, the Brihut Bangaluru Mahanagar Palike is looking for the right model of waste receptacles. Speaking to Clean India Journal in Bangalore, Hemalatha K, Environmental Engineer, BBMP, said, “The Corporation is at present looking for bin manufacturers or suppliers, who could suggest various designs to suit the requirement in commercial area.”

The kind of waste generated in these areas consists of mostly of dry waste and probably a bit of food waste. “Being a commercial area, the waste could consist of wrappers, papers or at the most fruit skins, etc. We will identify the right kind of model after discussing with suppliers before floating a tender,” she said. The Corporation is looking forward to Cleaning Industry players to provide suggestions on the waste bin model.
