Bikaner hospital – Loads of bio-medical waste removed

The cleaning at the PBM Hospital in Bikaner recently has been compared to cleaning the proverbial Augean Stable. It took a 10-day long special drives under the direct supervision of Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore whereby 125 rounds of trucks were deployed to remove the bio-medical garbage and other hospital filth from the premises.

It has been reported that during inspection, the minister found bio-medical waste lying within the premises of the medical centre for months thus vitiating the atmosphere. The condition of drains, toilets and corridors of the hospital were in extremely unhygienic state.

The hospital officials prepared a complete cleaning action plan, which was put into action immediately.
