Biogas for schools

The district panchayat in association with the Total Sanitation Cell in Thiruvananthapuram is set to implement source-level solid waste management projects in eight schools and three hospitals. Biogas plants will be installed at Neyyattinkara District Hospital, District Ayurveda Hospital at Varkala and District Homoeo Hospital at Fort. Apart from this, biogas plants having a capacity to process 50kg a day will be installed in eight schools in the district at a cost of `1 lakh each.
