What aspired you to start Harvey CleanPro?
The need for sustainable solutions has become increasingly critical in addressing global challenges and ensuring the well-being of current and future generations. ‘Harvey CleanPro’ was started in 2013 to create sustainable cleaning chemicals by incorporating environmental, social, and economic considerations into its core strategies and operations. Our business model incorporates the triple bottom line, considering not only financial performance (profit) but also environmental sustainability (planet) and social responsibility (people). The key was to start a venture that aligns with our passion and values, along with it making a meaningful contribution to the well-being of others. We have defined ‘Responsible Chemistry’ and ushered it into our industry – using our expertise to improve the performance of existing materials and productionize breakout ones that are even more sustainable.
The need for cleaning products has evolved over the years and so has its applications. What are the major changes that you have witnessed in consumer preferences and how Harvey has customized the requirements?
The first is Preference for Environmentally Friendly Products. In recent years, there has been a significant shift in consumer preferences towards eco-friendly and sustainable cleaning products. Consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of traditional cleaning chemicals. Today, many businesses recognize the importance of integrating sustainability into their operations, reflecting a broader understanding of the interconnectedness between business success, environmental health, and social well-being.
We have developed highly concentrated products that prioritize sustainability. This includes formulations with biodegradable mild ingredients, minimal packaging, eco-friendly production practices, space savings, water savings, and better air quality.
Then comes the demand for Multi-Purpose and Convenient Products. Consumers now seek cleaning products that serve multiple purposes and are convenient to use. While customising Harvey CleanPro has focused on multi-purpose cleaning chemicals that effectively tackle various surfaces and types of dirt. Products have been designed keeping in mind simple end users. Additionally, our product packaging is aligned with the ease-to-use concept.
A third Preference I can mention is for Transparency and Health-Conscious Formulations. Consumers are now increasingly concerned about the ingredients in cleaning products that are free from harsh chemicals and potential allergens. Our products are tested by reputed ‘Third Party Laboratory’ and we have certifications from recognised organizations that demonstrate our commitment to sustainability. These builds trust with consumers who may be sceptical of green claims without third-party verification.
What are the major solutions offered by Harvey and for which industries?
‘Our range of products and solutions improves our customer’s operational efficiency as well as their cleaning, sanitizing, and hygiene results, which we believe assists them in protecting their brands. The products also help customers achieve their goals of reducing waste, energy, and water consumption and can provide documented analysis of the cost and resource savings they can achieve by implementing our solutions.

What are your plans for 2024 and where do you see the demand?
In 2024, focusing on brand awareness would be our major and fundamental plan. The demand for sustainable products has been on the rise, driven by increasing environmental awareness and consumer preferences for eco-friendly options. We can see our products very well fit into the strategic sourcing practices of procurement teams to optimize their processes, reduce costs, and add long-term value to their organizations.
What sets your products apart from other market players?
Our product range offers a full package with a comprehensive set of benefits under one roof which is a compelling value proposition for customers. We have built trust with consumers who value transparency and accountability. A common misconception is that eco-friendly products may compromise on quality; our products have proved this wrong by offering excellent quality along with carrying an environmental profile. While sustainability is a significant factor, we ensure that our pricing remains competitive.
