The Bihar government has launched a rural health and cleanliness committee (RHCC) at the panchayat level to take care of health problems. Under the rural health scheme, the RHCC comprising, the auxiliary nurse midwife as its member secretary and ward commissioners of panchayats as members, would spread health awareness among villagers and provide medical facilities to them at their doorsteps.
