Center provides ₹1000cr assistance under AMRUT

Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has released Central fund of Rs.1K crore to 13 States as first installment under AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) for FY15-16. This is a part of total Central Assistance of Rs.5,311.38 cr committed to 13 States for which the Ministry has approved Atal Mission Action Plans for 2015-16 entailing total investment of Rs.11,671.76 cr in 286 cities in these states. The Ministry has so far cleared a total of 939 projects for 286 cities with most of them related to water supply and sewerage network services. Tamil Nadu gets Rs.274 crore, MP-Rs.134 crore, Gujarat-Rs.113 crore, West Bengal-Rs.110 crore, Rajasthan-Rs.92 crore, AP-Rs.60 crore. Other States including Kerala, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Haryana, Telangana, Jharkhand and Mizoram received 58 crore, 55 crore, 46 crore, 44 crore, 41 crore, 28 crore and 7.30 crore, respectively.
