Chennai promotes roof garden

The need for increasing green cover in Chennai was stressed at a recent programme organised by Exnora International to promote vegetable roof garden. Chennai has tree coverage of 4.6% as against the ideal requirement of 20%. In a model roof garden developed by Exanora different types of vegetables are grown organically. The waste water from the kitchen has been diverted to water the plants. On an average 20kg of vegetables are collected daily.
