City Sanitation Plan

A report of the Urban Development Department of Orissa says that citizens of Bhabhaneshwar spend a whopping र50 lakh daily on treatment of water-borne diseases. Half the affected people are from the slums. The city has over 370 slums. The City hospital had recorded 1.5lakh cases of suspected jaundice of which 23% tested positive. The State Government has now asked eight urban local bodies, including the two municipal corporations in Twin City, to prepare a City Sanitation Plan (CSP) conforming to National Urban Sanitation Policy.
