Cleaner coast in South Mumbai

BMC has appointed a private agency, SM Transport, to clean the coastline between Nariman Point and Haji Ali. It was noted that the coastline between Mahalaxmi and Warden Road, particularly around Mahalaxmi temple, had turned into a dumping ground. The BMC, the Mumbai police and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board have been directed by the Bombay High Court to take steps to maintain cleanliness along the sea front in this area. Those flouting the law and throwing garbage in and around the sea will be prosecuted.
