Cleanliness drive for Howrah station

In its bid to maintain the cleanliness of Howrah Railway Station, one of the world’s largest railway terminals, where nearly one million passengers come every day, the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has made an action plan. Having Bengal Urban Infrastructure Development Private Limited as its partner, the KMDA proposes to improve the sanitation system of the area in two different phases. The KMDA has already invited bids for the project. The selected bidders would be responsible for designing, executing and carrying out operation and maintenance for an initial period of two years.
