Cleanup plan for CWG

With just four months to go for the Commonwealth Games, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to beautify the city by launching ‘special cleanliness drive’ starting from July. The MCD will set up a ‘central control room’ that will be functional from mid September till the time of the Games. Citizens will be able to make complaints related to sanitation and cleanliness and the MCD staff would “immediately” attend to it. The civic agency will deploy specially trained staff across all zones to act upon sanitation complaints immediately. The corporation will also install waste collection bins at the games venues under its jurisdiction, deploy road sweeping machines and remove construction waste from across the capital.
