Corporate CSR spending high in Gujarat

Corporate CSR spending is high in Gujarat, as about 56% of all companies have spent 2% of their profit under CSR heads in FY2015, according to CRISIL Foundation. A total of 95 firms have mentioned CSR expenditures in annual reports, and 53 companies out of these have spent 2% or above on CSR. In India, 1,300 listed firms come under CSR spending criteria and 75% of these have spent below 2% of the mandatory figure. Gujarat based companies, which have spent 2% or more under CSR head include Torrent Power and Torrent Pharma, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones, Adani Enterprises Ltd, Cadila Healthcare, and Arvind Ltd among others.
