Crib mattresses pose danger to infants

Crib mattresses release about four times as many VOCs as old mattresses which further increases with body heat posing threat to infants. The University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering recently brought out a paper highlighting mattress-exposed side effects on the babies sleeping on them.

Babies/infants spend 50-60% of their day (24-hours) sleeping. They are considered highly susceptible to the adverse health effects of exposure to indoor air pollutants. They inhale as they sleep during their early stages of body growth or development.
