On what basis do you decide what FM data should be collected?

Data aggregation and analytics should be on areas which can create tangible business impact like:

  • Cost optimisation
  • Improved experience
  • Reduction of rejection rate or process deficiency
  • Risk analysis and avoidance
  • Compliance

However, depending on the nature of the workplace or the industry, additional metrics can be reviewed and tracked if it delivers other tangible and sustainable business impact, over and above those stated here.

How is the analysis of this data customised according to client requirements?

Data analytics as a science follows universal, statistical, mathematical and application dependent algorithms. However, data analytics representation in SaaS applications is customised through versatile dashboards which can be generally customised or provide flexibility of data visualisation, based on the business needs.

Tell us three different ways in which FM data has influenced decision-making of your clients.

Our Indoor Air Quality and hygiene applications have allowed clients to determine and augment ventilation standards and cleaning frequencies based on the information collected through the system.

Our visitor management application gives a customer historical and predictable forecasts of visitor inflow and therefore, helps them keep meeting rooms available

Our seat reservation application allows facility administrators to track seat utilisation trends by day and by department and therefore keep workspaces ready for occupation based on historical information.

Why is there resistance to adopting digitalisation among some facility managers?

Adoption of digital technology is mostly challenged and resisted by facility professionals as the actual and tangible benefits of technology are not communicated or conveyed to them, including the benefits it offers them in terms of their productivity and ease of doing operations.

Like in other industries, there is a misconception that adoption of technology may lead to reduction of jobs. Digital technologies are perceived to be expensive to own and complex to operate and maintain for non-tech personnel.
