Davangere plans waste to energy Plant

As a part of its eco-friendly initiatives, Davanagere Municipal Corporation is going to set up a waste to energy plant in Davangere city. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Methanization Plant would be submitted to the State Government shortly for approval.

According to Davanagere Municipal Commissioner H S Prasannakumar, “DPR would be assessed for its feasibility by the State Government appointed technical committee. Once approved by the technical committee, an open tender would be floated for private agencies to participate in the bidding process.” In order to address the need for wastewater treatment in Davangere, a unit of 20mld capacity is also under construction to treat sewage water and another 20mld is likely to go for bidding process.
