The Indian Laundry fraternity converged for an interesting program on business trends, skills, knowledge, and entrepreneurial tools
The Dry Cleaning & Laundry Association of India (DLAI), hosted a truly inspiring National Convention in New Delhi at Hotel Radisson Blu, Dwarka in September 2022. It was an inspiring event where the attendees gathered together to exchange knowledge and interact with their peers.
The two-day event was packed with back-to-back engagements, including thought-provoking sessions, Global Awards, DLAI industry felicitations and a networking dinner.
The sessions largely focussed on topics that addressed the industry’s needs in terms of starting and running a successful business, new technology, innovative solutions, digitalisation, market trends, rental and franchising models of business, dry-cleaners’ woes with fashion garments and more.
DLAI also held elections and the new committee took charge during the gala dinner on the second day. The award winners were also felicitated during the function.
The office bearers of the DLAI 2022 Committee restored Suresh Bhatia, Founder-Director, S B Fabcare Pvt Ltd as the President and Anup Podar of Beepee as Senior Vice-President and Sudhir Batra of Mercury Dry-Cleaners as Vice-President. The other committee members include Anil Kumar, Rajat Ahuja, Kunal Malhotra, Vikas Chandra Das, Asad Raja Shaikh, Chirag Bhatia, Gulshan Narang, Karna Goyal, Mahesh Ghatge, MK Pooja, Prateek Rana, Purwa Poddar, Rakesh Sharma, Ravi Raghav, Sameer Deodhar, Srinivasa Rao Balusu, Umakant Choundhary and Vipul Khattar.
The winners of the Global Awards organised by CINET Overall Award were Bianca The luxury Clothspa in the Retail Textile Cleaning category and Beepee Puretex in the Industrial Textile Services category.
The jury comprised Peter NM Wennekes, President – CINET, Sudhir Batra, Managing Partner, Mercury Drycleaners, Jivan Pant, Business Management Consultant & Business Coach and Mohana M, Editor, Clean India Journal.
Speaking on the occasion, President Suresh Bhatia emphasised the need for the industry to come together and assured the industry representatives of his team’s commitment to work for the betterment of the industry during his tenure.
Among the industry stakeholders who were part of the NCDL were Stefab, Ecolab, Supershine, Quick Dry Cleaning, Diversey, Staschem, Orgaearth-Seitz, Paraclean, Magnarub, Origa and Pan Pure Chemicals Group among others. Clean India Journal was the media partner for this event.
