The residents of Shastri Nagar, Kanpur and members of Parivartan, an NGO, converted a garbage dumping ground into a park with the help of Kanpur Nagar Nigam. Around 10 trucks of garbage were taken out from the dumping site. The ground was later levelled and developed into a park. The closing of the garbage dumping site brought respite to the locals, who have been complaining of foul smell emanting from the area.
