Into the 13th year of publication, Clean India Journal can proudly say that it has always been striving to widen the scope of its content manifold and launching new programmes and initiatives to the benefit of the Cleaning Industry and the different streams of the service industry. Launched last year in August in Mumbai to bring together the Executive Housekeepers from the hospitality industry and to create awareness about the significance of their role in hotel’s successful operations, International Housekeepers Summit was lauded by all.

Presentations, panel discussions, workshops, interactive sessions… all turned out to be motivating and invigorating. The Summit discussed how housekeepers should look beyond their designated job profile and grow to take on corporate positions. And we did get feedback from a few delegates saying that they did in fact manage to translate the learning into practical growth processes.

This year’s Summit, again in Mumbai with participation from hospitality professionals from over 11 Asian countries, is designed to drive home the need for housekeeping department to work in unison with other departments, including engineering and laundry to achieve a holistic career growth. The sessions are designed to integrate the vital departments in a hotel.

India is emerging as a key market for cleaning products and solutions. Infrastructure growth and state imposed compulsion to maintain cleanliness standards are increasing demand for cleaning services, tools and equipment. One such International company entering India is Germany based Arcora International. We have on our cover this time, Sami Memili and Klaus Karl speaking about their strategies for India market.

That India market is growing is getting pronounced from the response the forthcoming Clean India Technology Week in January 2018 in Mumbai is receiving from national and international cleaning professionals. The biggest event for professional cleaning and waste management is packed with conferences and demos.
