A team of 20 Sherpas that has been on a clean-up mission in the death zone of Everest since April this year has collected garbage left behind by climbers above 8000 metres (26,000 feet). The team had set up two camps at 6,065 metres and 6,500 metres and had begun collecting rubbish (oxygen canisters, food containers, discarded tents, ropes, backpacks, etc) that will be brought down and displayed at base camp. Everest has come to be known as the world’s highest dumpster because of the debris of the last 50 years on it.
