Fuel from waste

INEOS, a British chemical company has patented a method of making bioethanol from solid and agricultural wastes. The company claims to be able to produce 400 liters of ethanol from one tonne of dry waste. The waste is heated to produce gases, which are then fed to bacteria, which in turn produce ethanol that can be purified into fuel. This discovery will be a boon for hundreds of motorists who face soaring fuel prices.
