Garbage initiative

Replicating the model launched in Kochi two years ago, the residents of Thiruvananthapuram may soon be operating their own garbage units. And equipping them to do so will be the city chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI). The latter is launching a decentralised mass solid waste management project targeting apartment buildings. This will involve treatment of bio degradable waste using aerobic microbial composting bio bin system. This will minimise the quantity of garbage transported from the city.
