Best Maintained Civic Hospital Award

S.V. D. Savarkar Hospital, Mulund bags the award

In the civic category of Clean India Awards, S.V. D. Savarkar Hospital, Mulund is being awarded as the Best Maintained Civic Hospital in Mumbai for cleaning & maintenance. The jury panel visited three hospitals: K.B. Bhabha Hospital, Kurla; K.B. Bhabha Hospital, Bandra and S.V. D. Savarkar Hospital, Mulund, which had been shortlisted out of seven hospitals across Mumbai.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sunita Vasave expressed her gratitude, “Thanks to Clean India team for taking such a sincere step, we are extremely delighted with the news.”

About the hospital’s waste management, Dr. Joshi, Incharge, Biomedical Waste said, “We generate two types of waste – Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) & Biomedical Waste (BMW). Municipal waste being non-hazardous is taken away by Municipal Corporation. Regarding Biomedical waste we have separate guidelines and colour coding. We have divided them into ten categories. We have permanent janitors and staff which are trained regularly. We have put Do’s and Don’t’s chart everywhere to let everyone be aware of the necessary guidelines to prevent infections from further spreading.”

The Award is to be given on 6th of December at Grand Hyatt.
