Goa government delegation to visit Clean India Pulire

Urban Development Department-Government of Goa, which is looking for the latest innovations and technologies in cleaning and waste management, will be among the important delegates at the forthcoming Clean India Pulire 2013 show to be held in Mumbai from December 5 to 7. Speaking to CIJ at his office in Goa, Elvis P. Gomes, Director & Additional Secretary, Urban Development-Government of Goa, said, “We are exploring the options of outsourcing and mechanizing the whole cleaning and garbage processes. At Clean India Show, we will get the idea of latest equipment and innovations that would help us to explore and strategize the possible mechanization in waste management. Measures will be taken in accordance to their viability in the state.”

Government of Goa has taken several measures to ensure the 100% waste collection and segregation at source. Strategies have been made to provide basic technology such as organic waste converters, composting and segregation at the source.

“We are determined to provide all the basic needs to ensure 100% waste collection & segregation. This will help us to meet the target in the next three to four months.” he added.
