Green initiatives by students

The students of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Lucknow, are running a ‘green campaign’ under the aegis of the education department. The road to the campus is now lined with flower pots which have been beautifully painted by students. Use of polythene bags and smoking are banned on the campus. They are offered interactive sessions on environment education where every student has to present his/her efforts for a better environment.

The students have been divided into four groups who work for general cleanliness, water conservation, reducing pollution and plantation.

Realising the importance of the campaign, the State Institute of Education and Training (SIET) will produce a short documentary by the efforts of students. The students have undertaken exercise for making paper bags, putting up charts for awareness and monitoring the general cleanliness on the campus
