Hawkers irk tourists

A study by Agra University’s Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management states that the behaviour of hawkers and tourists is the biggest hindrance in the promotion of heritage spots like the Taj Mahal at Agra. The survey was carried out by over 20 students who spoke with tourists from Britain, Malaysia, Brazil, Spain, Sweden, Japan and many others. The tourists were not happy with the state of cleanliness and general security at these places but the “anti-social behaviour of the hawkers and touts irked them the most. Tourists were satisfied with the food in the hotels and the tariff though.
