Satyabala ID Hospital, Kolkata, is reported to be a virtual garbage dump. Large quantities of solid-waste are found discarded in front of the hospital among the shrubs. The sight of snakes and harmful insects is not considered to be unusual. The state Pollution Control Board (PCB) has prohibited the hospital from admitting patients until the conditions are as per board’s rules.
