HPMF Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Amid more than 175 purchasing manager delegates, Hospitality Purchasing Managers’ Forum (HPMF) – India’s first and lone forum of hospitality purchase managers — celebrated its 5th Anniversary on December 18 and 19, 2015 at Hyatt Regency Mumbai. The Anniversary, hosted under the theme “Hum Sab Saath Hai” and marked with a Convention of purchase heads from across India and abroad, also saw the hospitality procurement fraternity receiving Awards.

The two-day event filled with knowledge sharing sessions, entertainment, recognition and networking saw the convergence of over 175 delegates. While the first day focused on networking and B2B meetings, the second day, was packed with presentations, panel discussions and most importantly the award night. Opening the second day with his motivational presentation, ex-Commissioner of Police, Dr Shivanandan set the momentum of ethical practices, team work, discipline, courage and competence in procurement. However, the baseline for any kind of purchase in the knowledge of the product, which was discussed at length in the following discussions. Highlighting the changing trends in procurement — yesterday, today and tomorrow – and the need for green practices and products, besides presentations on codes of conduct kept the delegates engaged.

Supported by leading players in the cleaning and hospitality industries, the conclave left nothing short in hospitality and service to the delegates. Nitin Shankar Nagrale, Founder and General Secretary HPMF said “It was a great community feeling and I just loved the camaraderie between all delegates. The synergy, coordinated efforts and the passion will surely lead to better environment in Hospitality Procurement. Once again providing the positive energetic mode to everything we do”. Currently, HPMF has more than 960 purchase managers from all over India and abroad as their members from hospitality industry. The overseas members are from Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

 

Highlights

New Logo:HPMF launched its new logo to adopt the global perspective, with the green globe signifying eco-friendly awareness and the India map prominently visible in front, showcasing pride of being Indian and India First! The globe colour is symbolic of five elements of nature fire, water, air, earth and space. The text is in different colours to make the logo look joyful and vibrant. 

Awards:HPMF also initiated first-ever awards to help the fraternity get motivated and perform better in their respective organizations. The various categories including Emerging Procurement Person of the year, Procurement Person of the year, Female Procurement Person of the year, Best Hospitality Procurement Team, Best Sustainable Development Sensitive Procurement Team and The Living Legend Awards. Speaking to Clean India Journal, media partner to the conclave, Nitin Nagrale said, “This year we started HPMF Procurement Excellence Awards to promote good quality of work at office and to motivate these procurement professionals to do better in their lives.”

Certification:The other highlight of the event was the launch of CHPM (Certified Hospitality Procurement Manager) Certification by American Hotel and Lodging Education Institute! “All the serving procurement professionals can participate in the course. After exam conducted by AHLEI they will pass and get a certificate. They can then use the credentials on their visiting cards too. This is first ever such certification in the world exclusively for Hospitality Purchasing Managers. And I am proud that HPMF initiated this for the world,” Nitin added.
