IEHA 2010 award

The International Executive Housekeepers’ Association, Inc (IEHA) gave away the biannual awards recently at its 44th Annual Conference and Convention and 80th Anniversary Celebration in Orlando.

IEHA’s most coveted award, the Margaret Barnes Diamond Award for outstanding contributions to the housekeeping industry was presented to J Darrel Hicks, REH. Hicks, Director of Environmental Services at St Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. He has been in the housekeeping management field for 30 years, is a past president of IEHA (2006-08), and authored the booklet Infection Prevention for Dummies.

The Honorary Membership Award for notable contributions to the housekeeping management field, was presented to Bob Robinson, Sr. A 30-year veteran of the cleaning industry, Robinson is president of Kaivac, Inc.

The William D. Joyner Special Achievement Award, given in honor of William D. Joyner was presented to Allen Rathey. Rathey, who has over 25 years experience in the cleaning industry, is an industry consultant who offers advice and marketing services through his communications company, InstructionLink/ JanTrain, Inc.
