IIT Bombay Launches Sustainability Policy for Green Practices and Carbon Neutrality

The policy covers a wide range of sustainable practices, focusing on several critical areas:

•     Waste Management: Implementation of rigorous waste segregation and recycling programs

•     Energy and Water Conservation: Strategies for reducing resource consumption through efficient practices and infrastructure

•     Carbon Neutrality: A roadmap to achieve zero carbon emissions on campus

•     Biodiversity Promotion: The creation of butterfly gardens, conservation of exotic flora, and establishment of a biodiversity lab to monitor and protect campus biodiversity

IIT Bombay’s launch of this sustainability policy highlights its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and sets an example for academic and research institutions across India and globally to integrate green practices into their operations.
