What are the main hygiene products Cannon Hygiene is introducing into the Indian market?
We pride ourselves on our service to the customer as well as the quality of our products. We recently carried out a survey of our customers in eight countries and were very happy to find that 92% of customers believed we understood their needs and 93% of customers agreed that Cannon Hygiene provided them with value for money.
We will be bringing this service quality to all our services in India, so that when customers select Cannon Hygiene, they will know they are getting the best washroom service available.
How does Cannon Hygiene look at the hygiene market in India and what has been the progress in the last two years?
We are delighted to be in the Indian market as we believe there is enormous potential here.
As we all know, large volumes of bacteria and viruses can exist in the washroom, particularly where there is untreated feminine hygiene waste. We commissioned a study some years back on the potential hazards washroom users face. This study revealed that untreated feminine hygiene waste could transmit harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aureus, E.Coli and Candida Albicans in highly infectious doses. It also showed there was a potential threat from viruses such as Hepatitis A, B and C.
Cannon Hygiene’s feminine hygiene system is the most hygienic in the world. We remove, replace and clean our feminine hygiene units at every service. All of our units contain Activap™, our unique germicide. This is the best germicide in the world and offers the best protection for our clients and their customers.
Hand Hygiene is another area where infections can be easily transmitted, resulting in illness and absence from work. Our hand care range, covering soaps and sanitizers significantly improves the standard of cleanliness in the washroom.
Finally, nobody likes a bad smelling washroom and our air care range can, not only address bad odours, but can also reduce the bacteria present, improving the quality of the washroom for our customers.
Much of our work over the last two years in India has been about bringing this message to clients – making them aware of the potential hazards in the washroom and working with them to introduce improved washroom and feminine hygiene systems into the workplace.
Cannon Hygiene has been servicing washrooms since 1955 and was the inventor of the current type of feminine hygiene disposal. We have a lot of experience in working with clients and helping them introduce new washroom systems to their staff and customers.
On every occasion where a feminine hygiene system has been introduced it has been very favourably received by the women who use it. Our feedback from the Indian market has been very positive and with every day we see increasing demand for our washroom services.
Though the need for Cannon Hygiene’s washroom services and its feminine hygiene system are more in workplaces, we are happy to extend these services to any sector which is interested in adopting our systems, or simply learning more about them.
Are you looking at establishing a manufacturing unit in India?
We are a global company, operating in over 40 countries around the world. This means we require manufacturing in different regions in order to get products to our customers in the most efficient way possible. We don’t have a manufacturing unit in India at present, but this could change, depending on market demand for our services.
How is Canon Hygiene performing globally?
I think everybody is aware that the global economy is going through more difficult times; in some countries this is more pronounced than in others. However, this is the advantage of being a global company – if some countries slow down, others speed up. Globally, we are performing very well and we have plans for significant expansion over the next five years. We offer a quality service, which takes the worry out of washroom services for our customers and provides healthy environments for their staff and customers. We have done this successfully for over 57 years and will continue to do this for the foreseeable future.
