Housekeeping in the hospitality industry in India is now taking a new turn. The I-Professional Housekeepers’ Association set the momentum with the launch of its young housekeepers’ wing, GenX, to bring the next generation of housekeepers into the main fold.
In an official launch at Country Inn & Suites hotel, Gurugram, in May, IPHA formed GenX Housekeepers community to network, interact, grow and also contribute effectively to the growth of the housekeeping fraternity.
With the mission “To work in partnership with the fraternity, society, business and government, to strive for excellence in meeting the needs of the growing hospitality sector, through the provision of new technology, recreational, environmental, cultural, constructive and welfare programs, the GenX Community will provide a platform to innovate, create, share and implement new ideas, process, product and talent pool for inclusive access to fraternity whilst promoting cross cultural understanding.”
A gala ceremony of cake cutting was graced by veteran housekeepers, including Sareena Kochar, Vice-President Housekeeping, The Lemon Tree Hotels, Delhi; Vaneeta Arora, Director Housekeeping, The Park Hotel-New Delhi; Sherry Suda, Director of Rooms, Park Plaza, Delhi; and Harinder Kishore, Executive Housekeeper, Hyatt Andaz, Delhi among others.

It was also highlighted that if one works in accommodation management / housekeeping in related hospitality industry,by joining the ‘Gen X by IPHA’, he/she will be demonstrating your commitment to achieving the highest standards of professionalism in the industry.
