ISO 14001 certification for Kimberly-Clark

Kimberly-Clark Professional, which has introduced an Environment Management System (EMS) within its tissue mills, has achieved ISO 14001 certification at each of its European manufacturing sites. Energy use, air emission, fresh water consumption, waste water discharge and solid waste generation are the main environmental responsibilities that were identified for Kimberly-Clark Professional for the internationally accepted and audited standard certification. EMS provides a framework for efficient management of environmental responsibilities. Based on these, the company will try and lessen or control the impact of the erring factors.

The company was recently awarded the Forest Stewardship Council certificate too for its products. This certification is given for sustainability.

It has also implemented numerous measures designed to reduce waste, cut energy and water use and minimise road travel.
