HECS and Daiki Axis Company recently launched a Japanese technology-based sewage treatment plant for the domestic, industrial and commercial sectors of Chennai. These plants are designed with a treatment capacity to handle 1-50 kilo litres a day and are mass manufactured, thus keeping the cost low. The maintenance cost of such plants is about 80% lower compared to other technologies, and its advantages include high levels of energy efficiency, complete automation, no need of dedicated operators, and noise or smell.
