KMC’s plans for the city

After several complaints on unclean and smelly portable vats in the city, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has planned to seek the help of advertisement agencies to beautify and sanitise areas around these vats. The agency will also ensure the vats are not overflowing with garbage and are cleaned on a regular basis by the conservancy staff of the corporation. In return, KMC will allow the agency to set up billboards free-of -cost. The KMC officials from the solid waste management have identified 30 areas like Khanna cinema, Sradhananda Park, Rowdon Square, Camac Street, Vivekananda Road, Kalighat, Tollygunge, Majherhat, Southern Avenue among other places for implementation of this project.
