Laundrex India Expo

Surpassing expectations, the Laundrex India Expo was the most happening place in the whole exhibition hall. Exhibitors were elated with the mix of visitors at Laundrex India Expo. A lot many were start-ups who flocked in to get all information to set up a new laundry and many others came in from varied segments including hospitals, hotels, retail and commercial laundry and manufacturing facilities from across India looking for solutions.

Even facility management companies stopped by to understand the laundry business and have expressed interest in including laundry services. It would not be wrong to say that every visitor of Laundrex India Expo made some purchase or placed orders during the exhibition.

The highlight of the Laundrex India Expo was the high-level delegation of Railway officials from across all zone and a special team from the central Ministry of Railways that engaged with the exhibitors and attended the LaundrexNet conference. A special meeting of laundry solutions providers and the Indian Railway officials was organised by Clean India Journal during the exhibition.

Since the stalls were live – washing, drying, ironing – visitors stood by to watch it all. The Indian Railway brought blankets to wash, to understand the process and see the end result. Some of the leading companies visiting the exhibition include Mercury Dry Cleaners, Clean & Care Washio, Laundrokart, Megha Laundry, Laundro Café, Laundry Waves, Washapp, Brilliant Laundry, Washbuddy, Laundry Bus among hundreds others from the laundry and dry-cleaning service providers end.

Surpassing its record of last year, LaundrexNet, the exclusive platform for knowledge sharing and networking for the laundry industry, witnessed a gathering of over 130 people from retail, commercial, institutional laundry and dry-cleaning segments. A special delegation of Indian Railways from nine zones, hospitals and hotels, facility management companies and start-ups also attended this session.

Delegates from across the Southern States and Western India engaged in highly interactive sessions, which included topics of common concern like Energy and Water savings in the laundry process, Understanding new technologies, Stain removal besides presentations on Wet Cleaning, RFIDs, Leasing in Laundry Systems and Self-service laundry.

Leading speakers from across the world, including Thomas Ulbricht, Managing Director-Buzil Werk; Anand Dubey, Regional Sales Manager-Alliance Laundry Systems; Tiger Chang, Manager, LG Electronics; Anmesh Chalke, Laundry Manager-Support Services, Renaissance Mumbai; Anshul Gupta, Director, Quick Dry Clean; Kho Tjin Hok, Lagoon-Specialist, APAC; Xavier Salas, Director-International Sales, Girbau Group; Shrirang Tambe, CEO, ORIGA Leasing; Lalit Sharma, Sector head-Indian Sub-continent, Diversery-SealedAir; Akash Dharamsey, Director, ADD Laundry Concepts; Vijay Rodda, Laundry Consultant and Rachit Ahuja, Quick Dry Cleaning Software addressed the delegation.

“It was an excellent conference and we look forward to attend more of the LaundrexNet conferences in future too. The information on wet cleaning and energy & water savings was very useful for us. A.S. Ramani, Business Head, Tangy Supplies & Solutions Pvt. Ltd, a part of the Updater Services Pvt. Ltd, along with his colleagues Ganga Ganesh and Stalin found the LaundrexNet session very useful as “it gave us ample information on the things one needs to know when starting a new laundry set up. We have plans to enter the laundry segment shortly. The panel discussion on ‘Efficient Processes: Saving on Energy & Water’ and ‘New Technologies’ provided knowledge on result oriented operations. Also, Tunnel washer technology would be useful for large companies like us.”

There were few start-up companies attending the session. Dheeraj, Director, Washapp, said, “This is the first time we are here and for us the LaundrexNet conference was a boon. We learnt about different technologies from experts and are procuring Lagoon from Electrolux for our facility. The exhibition too was worth coming.”

SYS Facility Pvt. Ltd is into multiple business including catering and facility management. “Recently, we started our laundry business. This was the first time we have come to Laudrex India Expo and LaundrexNet conference which were very useful for us. We would like to visit again, wherever it is organised next,” said Yash Gupta, Director.
