Lucknow Goes Green: 150 Electric Vehicles Boost Waste Collection

To enhance cleanliness and improve waste management in Lucknow city, Urban Developments Minister A K Sharma flagged off 150 electric garbage collection vehicles. This initiative aims to streamline door-to-door waste collection in Zones 2, 5, and 8, while also providing employment opportunities to around 5,000 individuals, including men and women, directly and indirectly. Sharma highlighted the impact of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, emphasizing that cleanliness is a shared responsibility of all citizens. He further stated that municipal bodies are now competing to make cities cleaner and greener, with Lucknow setting an example for others to follow.
