Jitendra Singh Choudhary, a research assistant at the MIT Group of Institutions, has developed a machine that can recycle water without using electricity. There are huge granules fixed inside the machine which cleans the water using gravitational force when it falls from the top. This used water gets purified at various stages. After the dirty particles get washed off, the last stage makes it odor-free.
This machine can be used for gardening, washing clothes, in toilets and to clean vehicles, and has been installed in MIT college hostels which recycles around 500 litres of water every day. The machine costs around Rs 7,000 and its maintenance cost is not more than Rs 540. “Since the machine has been filed under the Copyright Act, we take complete responsibility to provide the granules to those who install this machine,” says Jitendra.
