Marking Water & Sanitation Awareness Week

March 16-22, 2015, was marked as the National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Week by the Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water & Sanitation, Government of India. The week long extensive awareness drive aimed to promote the construction & use of household toilets, keeping the villages clean, safe handling & use of drinking water and awareness of quality of drinking water involving grassroot level institutions like Village Water and Sanitation Committees, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Angwanwadi , ASHA Workers, schools teachers, Women Self Help Groups and Youth Clubs. Ten Swachhata Raths were dispatched to different parts of the district/ state to create awareness among the rural masses.
