Mobile incinerators for Noida

CIJ News, December 11, 2013

The industrial township of Noida in Uttar Pradesh will soon have “mobile incinerators” to solve the critical problem of urban garbage. These incinerators would burn the garbage and utilise the solid waste “residue” in making roads.

Altogether 30 such “mobile incinerators” are going to be deployed to deal with 300MT of solid waste generated daily in Noida. Such incinerators will be moving all over the urban limits and burn 50 tonnes of garbage to convert them into 20kg of residue.

According to the Noida Authority, a detailed plan has been drawn towards this effect. A dedicated team of officials has been formed to prepare a feasibility report on utilisation of these machines to recycle the garbage. This decision to have mobile incinerators comes close on the heels of the National Green Tribunal slapping notices to Greater Noida Authority and UP government for improper way of disposing MSW thereby polluting the environment.
