More phones than toilets!

Nashik homes have better access to phones than toilets. Nearly 68% homes are equipped with some telephone connection, over 56% comprising mobile phones. While 20% of the 3.20 lakh homes within Nashik city lack toilet facilities within their premises, the figure is as high as 60% of the total 78,703 homes in Malegaon. The Muslim township has the second worst sanitation facility of all districts in Maharashtra, with 14 % of households resorting to open defecation.
