MP Group expands operations in Mumbai

MP Enterprises & Associates Ltd, a leading facility management company in the Western region based in Pune, has expanded operations in Mumbai with the setting up of its new office “MP House”. Speaking to Clean India Journal at the inauguration, Director Abhishek Pathak, said, “We had been planning on setting up a new office with our expanding operations in Mumbai. The new corporate office will now focus on core activities of marketing and servicing, while the backend operations will continue from our old office.”

Some of the major clients of MP Group include IT and manufacturing companies besides commercial space. “We have more than eight new projects in Airole, Navi Mumbai’s fast growing industrial hub. These are big projects where we are offering not just FM hard & soft services but also transport and catering services. We have increased our trained workforce too to meet the growing demand. This is one of the main reasons we have set up a corporate office in Mumbai.”

Mindspace Airoli, a well-planned four million sqft IT-SEZ which houses some of the bigwigs in the IT space and also in the commercial space, including L&T Infotech, Infosys, Syntel, Patni Computer, iGate, Cognizant and Accenture. Some of the others in the surrounding area are Times of India, Hindustan Times, Suzler, etc. MP Group is servicing many of these companies. There are a lot of industries developing in the Navi Mumbai and Thane-Belapur belt and many others from Powai and Vikhroli industrial areas are shifting to Airoli in a bigger way.

“Since we offer all the services inhouse, we need trained workforce. We have set up a 7000sqft training centre at Airoli itself, about 2km away from Mindspace. We provide full-fledged training for manpower, back office staff, supervisor, housekeeping and field officer at the centre. Every Saturday, all the workers assemble at the training centre to attend sessions on the operations and maintenance of cleaning machines, the issues faced, reporting methods, crisis management, etc. The training is extended to field officers, supervisors, site coordinator, workers and also managers.”

About 3000 manpower alone is engaged in the Airoli Mindspace area. “We have taken around 15 rooms to accommodate excess manpower to meet around 5% absenteeism seen on a day-to-day basis. This is in keeping with the 100% manpower demand of our clients.

“Every three months we have arranged a direct interaction of our workers with the manager of the client company at the training centre. This will facilitate the workers to understand better the expectations of the client.”

Besides FM services, MP Group, which provides fleet services to IT and manufacturing industries in Mumbai has grown its fleet from five buses to 70 buses in a year. “We are planning to increase it by another 70 in the coming year. Out of the total fleet, 90% of the buses ply in Airoli alone and the rest in Bhiwandi and Powai.”

This year, MP Group plans to expand catering services at its training centre to meet the requirement of the surrounding industries. Besides, it also plans to enter into hospitality services and other services in the coming years.
