Mumbai Central station gets bag sanitisation kiosk for bags

Option to wrap luggage in plastic also available

To enhance the safety of its passengers, Western Railway has started a kiosk with facility to sanitise and wrap passengers’ luggage at Mumbai Central station. This service will also be started at Bandra Terminus and Surat Railway station shortly.

The sanitisation will be done by passing luggage through a UV ray tunnel. As an inaugural offer, rates for sanitisation will be Rs 10 for each baggage while sanitisation and wrapping both will cost Rs 50.

The passenger will also have the option of wrapping the luggage with a polythene cover. In future, there are plans to replace wrapping material from polythene with biodegradable polymer.
