South Auckland Crest Commercial Cleaning franchise has taken a licence agreement, Crest Commercial Cleaning (India) Pvt Ltd, to operate in India. The company would be operating in about a dozen cities in India and employing 3000 people within the next two years.
Crest co-owner Grant McLauchlan feels that given India’s economic growth, the timing of the company’s return to India is perfect. Westernised infrastructure like plazas, malls and office blocks and the demand for cleaner and hygienic facilities in every sphere of life by Indians, attracted the company to India.
McLauchlan opines that the Indian cleaning market is huge but it has been serviced by poorly resourced companies who employ untrained cleaners.
Crest cleaners are required to undertake New Zealand Qualifications Authority training which also gives the national certificate in cleaning and caretaking. Crest staff in India would be trained to a similar standard, overseen by Crest’s New Zealand staff.
Crest is also looking at further business opportunities in India which include the export of Crest’s house-branded, environment friendly cleaning products to India. Established in 1996 in New Zealand, Crest has 235 franchises.
