NR Railway to outsource cleaning

North Eastern Railway is planning to outsource mechanised cleaning and garbage disposal of Chhapra Railway station and residential colony. Dr S K Rajan, Chief Medical Superintendent, North Eastern Railway Divisional Hospital, Varanasi told Clean India Journal, “The job entails cleaning the premises of around 900 residential houses and offices with the help of 61 labourers, including four skilled manpower for mechanised cleaning.

“Equipment like scrubber drier, petrol operated high pressure jet cleaning machine, steam cleaner, stair cleaner, flipper and vacuum cleaner will be used for cleaning. Job has been outsourced through an extension because it was not completed in stipulated period of time earlier,” he adds. The job was earlier outsourced to a Kolkata based agency.
