Greater Noida authority starts at Rs 170/month for doorstep waste pickup
Keeping in mind the Swachh Survekshan, the Greater Noida authority has entrusted a private agency to collect and process waste in 95 sectors and 124 villages as part of a move to centralize waste management.
This initiative includes collection and processing, where the authority has hired a private company to collect waste from door to door.
There are currently only a few developed sectors in Greater Noida that collect garbage from households. On a daily basis, the city generates 250-350 tonnes of municipal solid waste (MSW).
A monthly charge of Rs 170 may apply to residents for garbage disposal at the doorstep, but a monthly charge of Rs 7,000 may apply to commercial property owners.
Noida has bagged the 11th spot in the latest Swachh Surveksha. It scored 6332 out of 7500 points in the assessment.
